External cargo sling, LONG LINE

Preconditions:
  • CPL(H) / ATPL(H)
  • Completed ECS level 1 (10 or 20 m)
  • 10 h PIC on training helicopter
  • Completed ECS 2 basic course
  • Completed study of the Marshaller Syllabus
  • 500 ECS 1 cycles

FLYING WITH VERTICAL REFERENCE POINT
Students must be able to carry out a stable hovering manoeuvre by means of vertical reference points without external cargo before beginning the training with external cargo.

Duration:5 training days with FI (ECS) divided into:
2 training days with one marshaller
3 training days with two marshallers

Contents:15 flight hours divided into:
200 cycles
40 missions

The extent of the practical training depends on legal regulations and individual trainee performance.

DEFINITIONS
Cycle:
A cycle is a flight from A to B with external cargo sling and subsequent return to A.

Mission:
A mission is an ECS flight or a number of ECS flights operated from A to B.
