Basic marshaller training

1 day of theoretical instruction
1,5 days of practice
1,5 days of flying operations with a helicopter
0,5 day of examination


Contents:


The basic marshaller training course (at corporate level) covers the whole spectrum of a marshaller’s work, which is exhaustively described in the marshaller syllabus (FH-SY).
40 hours of lessons,
5 - 6 flying hours with external cargo –› pilot training
ECS I.
This course combines pilot and marshaller training in order to establish a basis for future teamwork. Lesson topics: emergency plan at workplace, first aid, rescue, working with third parties, hazards/behaviour near the helicopter; communication, hand signals, phraseology, radio communication, marshalling, personal safety equipment, load lifting devices, slinging techniques, work assignments, flight obstacles, boarding and de-boarding while hovering, laws and administration, briefing and safety at workplace, external cargo flights, repackaging of LLD, PSE, debriefing, individual study, examination.

Legal prescriptions (EASA OPS, national regulations), marshaller syllabus, ECS I bulletins


Work material:


Marshaller syllabus, flight operations equipment, crane, producers' documentation (photographs, copies), R44 helicopter, rope length up to 10m (short-line)

  • Donaueschingen airport (Germany, EU), HTC-Helicopter Training & Charter GmbH

Flexibility:


  • The programme forms the basis for the training and the examination.

Employer information:


  • The course is directed by experienced heads of transport / safety officers / safety experts / rescuers / flight instructors, in compliance with legal foundations.
  • The basic marshaller training course (at corporate level) conveys elementary knowledge required in every flight operation company.
  • The course is superintended by FOCA. The course administration and responsibility lies with A&H Training (BBT/OPET instructor) and BARTL expert.
  • The training is based on the FOCA ECS I form and the marshaller syllabus, as well as on essential publications on the topic.

Certificate:


  • Participants will receive a course certificate and their attendance will be recorded in the marshaller syllabus training check (AK FH-SY).
